1. I'm with you.......
haven't checked out what's happening in the world lately except for the most blatant headlines. Haven't seen anything about the Pope being so ill that he might be on his deathbed.

3. He's in the hospital
He has pneumonia and is having difficulty breathing. Looks like he won't be much longer, but it's looked that way for the last decade, so who knows.

5. That's what I thought......
it seems like he's been in poor health for many years.why is now any different?
(Wasn't he able to get his flu/pneumonia shot like everyone else in America/Europe?) <sarcasm off> Sorry just couldn't help myself.

7. The Vatican has not said if he got his flu and pneumo shots
which is odd. Actually, the Vatican tends to side-step the vax issue, not saying if vaxes cultured on cell lines from aborted tissue are okay or not, for example.

The fact that the man who probably has the best on-site health care in the world was taken to the hospital (and not the closest one, I've read) means his condition is grave, I suspect.

9. Flu shots are from aborted stem cells?
I personally have no idea since I don't have scientific training. I had always thought it was grown from cultures of those who had the 'flu' at the 1st outbreak of the different types of the virus.

Maybe someone can enlighten us............

10. No, flu shots are cultured on eggs, using viruses found in migrating ducks
but some other vaccinations, such as the varicella (chicken pox) shot, are cultured on tissue that came from abortions. I don't think it's stem cells, though. Sorry if I wasn't clear.

8. Respiratory infections in the chronically ill are quite dangerous
They are often fatal since these folks usually have a diminished ability to breathe deeply, cough, and fight off infection in the first place.

As another poster said, pneumonia is the "old man's friend".
