2. as a cub fan since 1969.....

....i know enough not to bet on them in the playoffs. i hate to be a pessimist but, as much as i'd love to see the cubbies in the world series, i doubt it's gonna happen.

3. Fingers X'd for tonight but did they jinx themselves yesterday?

Lots of pre-game talk around Wrigley Field regarding "the champagne being chilled" (Yikes - talk about a jinx!!!) and taking "victory laps" etc. Even Ron saying he "guaranteed" a win - jeesh!!! We old time Cub fans were horrified by such cocky talk - not by Cubs themselves (I don't think) but by WGN personnel. I didn't care for that mock "chopping" either at Friday night's game - lets just be regular Cub fans cheer (and pray) like crazy - no b.s. antics!
