Have you ever gone Tic-Tacking?
When I was a kid we would get dried farmers corn and in the night we would sneak up to houses with aluminum awnings and throw handfuls of this dried corn on the awning. It made a frightful noise in the night and it would normally result in the lights being turned on as we would flee or hide.

There was one old fellow who detested this practice....and one of the kids down the street got hit in the back with a salt pellet when Mr. X shot at him. That salt pellet left a big mark...that I can tell you...

1. Wow. Hadn't heard that term in years.
'Round here, tic-tacking was taking a rosined piece of twine, nailing it under a clapboard of a house and by rubbing it a certain way, it would produce a loud noise which reverberated through the victim's house.

My Grandpa showed me how to do it when I was a kid.
