How popular is your name?
Here's a site where you can look up your name and find out how popular it's been each decade over the past 100 years. It also gives you the name's meaning.

http://www.birthdayalarm.com/NamePopularity.jsp?bdaysession=1537621350352889497&Ran=831475010</p

I thought it was kinda interesting!

63. My real name was in the top ten in the 1950s and 1960s
and is no longer even in the top 100.

But I more or less knew that. I have many contemporaries with my name (which isn't Lydia, BTW), but I had no students with that name after 1985.

79. Mine's > 1000 in popularity; it peaked at 71 in the twenties!
It was 204 when I was born (fifties), and it hasn't rated a bar on the graph since the sixties! Doesn't surprise me at all: it's a name everyone has heard of, but it's not too often that you meet anyone with the name. (I've only met a couple of other people with it, ever, but strangely a woman I know used to work with someone with the same first and last name as me!)

85. Mine means "Powerful River"
It's Rhonda; I think it's Welsh in origin. It didn't even show up above 1000 until the 40's, peaked at # 46 in the 60's (when I was born) and is about to disappear above 1000 again!

*looking closely at the chart* It seems to have appeared out of nowhere in the 60's - wasn't on the list at all before then. ???

I wonder if anyone has named their child "Taliban" yet?
