Albert Goldman criticized John Lennon and was considered "unpatriotic".
I put that word in quotations because I do not mean it literally, but metaphorically. I remember when The Lives of John Lennon came out and people dismissed it, and Bono had harsh words for Goldman on Rattle and Hum.

The rule seems to be that you cannot give the Beatles bad press. That almost sounds like how the media treats Bush*.

On the other hand, Oasis gets treated harshly by the media, like Howard Dean.

Oasis is the Howard Dean of rock bands.

Score one for Oasis.

1. Kick.
If they did it to Dean and Oasis, there's no telling who's next.

11. You could have found your theory was wrong by looking in my profile.
I do not have an "undeclared" gender in my profile like some people do.

12. Yes but
If you are as much of a drunk as the boys are, you could have filled out the profile and messed it up.

4. Nah Oasis is more like the Lyndon La Rouch of rock bands
the brothers are a bit delusional, rip offs, and they take themselves more seriously than anyone else does but fr a few fanatical followers.

8. That is like saying 1964 called.
Or in the case of Terence Trent D'Arby, saying that 1987 called. You do not subject timeless performers to these "next big thing" tests.

9. I'm in stitches.
If you're putting Terence Trent D'Arby and Oasis in the same pantheon as the Beatles, I'll have to credit your flair for comedic writing.

10. Terence Trent D'Arby was more popular than the Beatles in the eighties.

13. unfortunately...
.. Oasis brought most of the bad press on themselves. They are mediocre artists at best, who seem to think they can brag and brawl their way to greatness.

Didn't work, did it.

14. The Beatles said they were going to the toppermost of the poppermost.
It may have been to themselves but they later admitted it. I would give another point to Oasis based on the fact that they hid this from the public, but I'll refrain.

17. The Beatles..

... were the toppermost of the poppermost not only musically but culturally. Nobody is Oasis will EVER write a song on remotely the same level as "Yesterday", "Strawberry Fields", or any one of 20-30 songs I could name off the top of my head.

Oasis is a mediocre band at best. They will be remembered as such. I've read enough interviews and puff piece articles from them back in the 90's to wonder - who the f cares? They were simply another group who managed to get attention because they had a gimmick - they like to kick each other's asses. How bloody interesting.
