Well, I just called Senators Durbin and Obama offices in Washington...

and urged both of them to vote against Alberto Gonzales as Attorney General. I'm reasonably sure Durbin will. I HOPE that my new Senator does, also.

I didn't bookmark the link, but he told the Arlington Heights newspaper that he was voting against Gonzales.

Gonzales will get confirmed. But I want to see as many votes as possible against him. And BOTH of our senators. :-)

4. Did you get any idea about Obama?

I called last week and was told that Durbin had voted against Gonzales in committee...but Obama's office wouldn't say anything.

However the person answering the phone hesitated when I said I would be very disappointed if he voted "YES". IMO it seems that Obama might vote "yes".....I really hope I'm wrong.

I don't do the phone call thing very well. I tend to get a little too agitated, so emailing and letter writing is a better option for me. :-)
