Workplace Drama Amuses Me
A whole contigent of people are now threatening to walk off the job because they're upset about something or other. My desk is hidden from the common view, so I hear almost all the bitching, complaining and gossip, without being seen by the perpetrators. The management is making it worse by fanning the flames. It's cracking me up.

Anything dramatic going on where you work?

1. That's what you get for working for Disney.
:eyes:

All calm here. Earnings report came out and we're doing quite well. Everybody's happy nowadays.

5. I think a lot of people look for conflict
They're so damned bored that they have to manufacture excitement and this is how they do it. It really is astounding the lengths they will go to in order to achieve their goal.

Considering all I've observed in my employment history, I will write a book one day. It probably won't be non-fiction, but it sure as hell is going to utilize the scenarios I see enacted by my histrionic co-workers and psychotic customers on a daily basis.

10. I would imagine that business is slow there.....
In January?

Is that what it is? Can't go biking around here in the middle of Winter.

I'm sure as soon as the first robin appears, your place of business probably gets quite.......giddy?

18. Actually, we've been very busy
We had a 25% off internet special on parts and accessories and are still dealing with the aftermath.

Being busy actually increases the complaining here, believe it or not. I can't explain it, it's not like anything I've ever seen before.

4. Two women in the office next to mine, cackling and giggling.....
I am trying to write a press release announcing a big-buck ambulatory surgery center that will be going into a downtown building and this cacophany of female hilarity is damn distracting.

Sounds like a high school girl's bathroom.

9. The two women who work closest to me are sisters-in-laws
If that's the correct way to put it. One of them is partially deaf to boot. They bicker and argue at high volume the whole time they are at work, usually about their dysfunctional family. Right now, the deaf one's teenaged daughter's fiance (and baby-daddy)is in jail, but is getting out on bail.

The other one's out of work husband just called to tell her that her dog ate a whole box of candy and he did nothing to stop it.

I don't take nearly enough notes as I should, you can't make this shit up. :-)
