I was bothered by the camoflaugue ribbons, but these take the cake.

"Suitably camouflage-green in color..."

While I appreciate the sentiment, I am disgusted by the color choice. Army green? :puke:

Big old box in my 7-11 today. Not a one missing.

How about some real support folks???

things like armour. I appreciate the work of the USO, but why can't the money be used to make sure the troops have a better chance of coming home alive.

How much of the ribbon sale money going directly to support the troops anyway? Those fricking ribbons are on sale everywhere. I especially hate it when they're on the gas guzzling SUVs. Although this morning, at the local Kwik Shop, they were in the "sale" bin.

on edit: I'm with you. I am so sick of those ribbons. And car flags too.

Go USO!!

:puke:

Go to www.peace-action.org to get yellow magnetic ribbons that say "Bring The Troops Home Now," and feature a peace symbol.

3. A very American gesture! Crying here....
Buying a cheap plastic sticker for your truck and wearing a visible means of showing your "support"... It's about as superficial as buying a Toby Keith CD and slapping it on every once in a while.

4. Thoroughly disgusted.
I am a 16-20 hour/month Red Cross Volunteer (the Red Cross is part of the United Service Organizations, "USO") and I am THOROUGHLY DISGUSTED with Army Green "Support our Troops" bracelets.

I worked in Veterans Outreach when I got out of the service in 1969 and I am THOROUGHLY DISGUSTED with Army Green "Support Our Troops" bracelets.

I did my three years during VietNam - including Casualty Assistance Call Officer (the knock on the door) and Casualty Assistance Case Officer (the social worker thereafter) - and I am THOROUGHLY DISGUSTED with Army Green "Support our Troops" bracelets.

I drive a gas economizing Prius and I am THOROUGHLY DISGUSTED with Army Green "Support our Troops" bracelets.

6. Still have nightmares about the casualty calls
...but the Case Officer stuff just made me totally anti-bureaucracy (and anti John B' O'Neill of the self anointed "Swifties For their Divinely Revealed Version of Truth" --- like Bill O'Reilly - "fair and balanced" :puke: )

7. You do far more to "support our troops" than any suburban mom
in a Hummer or Escalade.

Thank you.
