Breaking News: I'm not going to watch the SOTU tonight.
I can't fucking stomach this asshole. I can't watch him at all. It's just going to piss me off. When everyone at work talks about it tomorrow, I'm just going to leave. I don't have to watch anyway; I know what he's going to say. Here's what he'll say in a nutshell.

The situation in Iraq is just splendid!

The tax cuts made the economy better!

We have a big deficit, so we have to stop spending on "unnecessary" things, which means all domestic programs.

He WON'T mention that the tax cuts are the fucking reason we have the huge deficit. He won't mention how he created a fiscal crisis that will kill future generations. He won't mention any of his environmental regulation rollbacks. He won't mention the hell in Iraq that he's putting our soldiers through. He won't mention how he hasn't even gone to one friggin funeral any of the roughly 1500 US soldiers who died. He won't mention that the war spending is the OTHER thing that created the deficit. He won't mention... oh well, you get my point.

1. I will read a copy of it online. I'm not watching it either.
It will likely come up in my class on Friday so I do need to know what was said, for my students' sake.

3. I'm a teacher too.
I still won't watch it, though. I'm a physics teacher, so it won't come up as part of the class. When any students talk to me about politics, I just say, "I don't like to talk about my politics." It's a private school; they're all repukes.

2. Can't wait until class tomorrow.
Our (Repuke) teacher wants us to watch it and think of three responses to three points Bush makes.

He'll wish he didn't call on me. }(

I'd love to be a fly on the wall when you talk about it. Do you still live in NYC? If so, is your teacher lonely. There are not many repukes there (as a percentage of the population).

5. Yep, still do.
On Election Day, he went to the results on the CNN website (showing the whole class), scrolled down to Manhattan...it was hysterical, because Kerry won like 85-15. :P

11. I won't either
It really bothers me to know every thing he says he means just the opposite, that I haven't watched anything he has said since his supposed election.
Haven't been able to watch much news the past few days since they are fawning all over themselves about this liar and the liars that support him.

13. You couldn't pay me..
... enough to listen to that fucker blather on and on - using words he didn't write and couldn't write if you gave him 50 years - words that sound meaningful but are nothing but hot air.

I don't want to hear his nasal whiny voice, I don't want to see his right-wing snap-on haircut, I choose not to be subjected to his "I can't believe so many people actually buy this shit" smirk.

No, I won't be watching, or listening.

19. Not going to watch it either....
Been comtemplating whether to watch it all day.. and then walking through the living room I heard some news reporter go.. "The Iraqi elections went off so well.. Republicans can now officially go I TOLD YOU SO"...for some reason... that made decide not to watch it. I don't think I can stomach it. I'll have to stay in my room.. Grandma and my two uncles will be watching it.... and then tommorrow morning reiterate I really should do the right thing and get over it.. and support him.
