On edit: Rather watch flies on shit than SOTU. Bartlette's OK but that show jumped the shark when his daughter was kidnapped - I haven't watched it since

I never really watched the West wing but I'm watching reruns now. Why was John Goodman taking over and is he going to stay. He's much better even though I guess he might be playing a republican character this time around.

5. SPOILERS!!!!!!!
VP John Hoines (sp) had recently resigned due to an affair, and there was no VP. President Bartlett's daughter Zoe had just been kidnapped (by terrorists?) and he felt it necessary to relieve himself of duty (23rd Amendment?), so the speaker of the house (Goodman) became tempresident. He'll be gone soon.

now you're caught up.
