Anyone remember "The Young Ones"?

It was a British TV sitcom in the early-'80s about four students living together. MTV broadcast that show here in the States and I grew up watching it. Now my roommate just got the whole series on DVD and I'm rediscovering it once again.

Anyone else here seen it? Did you have a favorite character? (If I had to choose one, it would probably be Vyvyan, but Alexei Sayle was also brilliant as the Balowski Family.)

And who was the angry political character (roommate) that was always talking about how he hated margaret thatcher? Yeah, some of those were pretty disgusting, like the toilet that rejected the shit. And the LoverBoy. Can't remember his name either.

And loverboy was Mike. I love that show, it's out on DVD now. Finally replaced my ancient taped episodes, yay!!

I liked the show when Vivian was pregnant quite a lot

8. Probably my all-time fav show!

I think I liked Rik best. Rik. Just Rrrik. Or maybe it should be Wrik. Or Rwik. (How do you spell that British R speech defect when it blends with W? My hubby is a Brit, he says a surprising number of Brits do that R/W thing.)

However, I also liked Vyv's total disregard for social graces.

I have all of the episodes on old, rotting VHS tapes, I should get the DVDs... thanks for the reminder!:)

Favorite character? Well, I'd have to say I love Vyv and Rik equally. And the hamster...or guinea pig...whatever it was...Special Patrol Unit!
