1. It never was
didn't you know that?

Of course, praying in the town square will invite the comments of interested passers-by.

2. It isn't.
Anybody can do all the praying in a town square that they want. The government just can't sponsor or pay for it.

5. Eggzackly! That's my point.
Most people really have a difficult time understanding the First Amendment.

3. Depends on who yer prayin' to.
Pray to Ba'al in the public square and you'll get a proper stoning. Pray to Satan in public and be prepared to be arrested and sent to a re-education camp somewhere in northern Nevada.

8. I don't think so
Why, just the other day I was walking through the town square and prayed to Satan, requesting a virgin be delivered to me.

I encountered no negative consequences, except for Satan's utter failure to deliver the virgin.

4. Not all town squares are publicly owned
Salt Lake City recently sold part of its Main Street to the Mormon Church, causing a string of lawsuits over the use of the property.

As far as I know, this is the most recent update, but I could be wrong.

6. I back the ACLU on this question
The city retains an easement? That's bullshit.

7. It is bullshit
But, as the Chimp says, this is "an ownership society".

God help us all...
