There's a time for niceness, bipartisanship, and cooperation. I like those things as much as anyone. I wish like hell they were still feasible options.

A close friend and outstanding colleague is leaving my state, Virginia, because he's completely disgusted with the virulent anti-Gay legislation the first Republican controlled legislature passed. It is completely outrageous! I tried to talk him into staying but the more we talked, the more I understood his motives and rationale. What utter bull shit. This has to stop and stop now.

BTW, the same idiots in Virginia that passed this now have a bill that will make it mandatory! for any woman who has a miscarriage to report that to state authorities within 12 hours; said report to include doctor statements about the size, weight, and gender of the fetus.
