1. I was listening to actor Mike Farrell (B.J. Hunnicut from M*A*S*H)
He gave a great speech on why the death penalty should be done away with. He's a really powerful speaker. I got to meet him after his speech, shake his hand and get his autograph. Great guy, very nice. Said that he would get behind Russ Feingold if he ran for President in a heartbeat.

He's active. This man knows his stuff too. If you ever get the chance to hear him speak, do it. You'll be entertained and armed to the teeth with arguments against the death penalty.

7. Thought about reading the Bible
something I avoid like the plague, until of course, the plague of our country is speaking and wasting my time and using resources normally reserved for entertainment. I ended up playing Solitaire on the computer for hours on end. We should be allowed to get a percentage off of our cable bill for every channel that airs that goofy low down rotten self centered self aggrandizing ogre.

15. Asleep
Whilst I am a total American politics junkie I couldn't quite bring myself to stay awake to watch it. I watched it the last couple of years, but after falling asleep during that inauguration thing (which was at 5 p.m.) I thought that he would send me straight off to the land of nod and so didn't bother trying.

All of the politics aside, he really is a terrible public speaker.

32. Getting money back or do you owe big?
I made almost no money last year due to being a full-time student. Even in Chimp's Amurka, I got all the tax back that I put into it, state and federal. Start work, actually a new career, on Monday so that should make a big change for this year.

Here's hoping you don't owe too much.

43. But remember, there's nothing wrong with having an accountant someday
do your taxes. As you get older and end up owning a house, having a mortgage, and ultimately receiving investment income and incurring capital gains and capital losses, you become a candidate for becoming enamored of your trusted accountant who knows how to "cheat" the IRS in every legal way possible.

61. Some relocation pictures in Ireland from the 1960s
In Ireland and the rest of Great Britain, they say one is "moving house" meaning moving from one house to another. For whatever reason, the phrase has always seemed easier to me than I am moving...leaving someone to invariably ask to clarify if I mean my job, my horse, my home, going home, whatever. "Moving house" always seems to stop more questions about the process, even though I am not from that area of the world.

I'll take your advice on the accountant thing. This year, I was so broke that I sold some stock so I could eat after using the rest of my savings to pay tuition. What a huge hassle! I made very little actual money this year and then had to deal with a 1099-B for selling a little bit of stupid stock. I almost went to an accountant just so I could understand the explanation of the procedure.
