Star Trek spin-off TV series axed
BBC

Quantum Leap actor Scott Bakula (front) stars in Star Trek: Enterprise

Star Trek: Enterprise, the latest TV incarnation of the sci-fi saga, is being axed by broadcaster UPN.

Its 98th and final episode will air in the US on 13 May, after a four-season run which struggled in the ratings.

Presented as a prequel to the original Star Trek television series, Enterprise made its debut in September 2001 starring Scott Bakula.

It followed earlier Star Trek spin-off series The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine and Voyager.

2. too bad, as I had heard it was finally hitting its stride
I just was never inspired to watch the show after watching justa bout every episode of Next Generation, DS9 and Voyager when they were broadcast.

3. I loved TNG, but never could get into DS9 or Voyager
they just didn't have the personality of The Next Generation. And none of the captains had the charisma of Patrick Stewart.

5. Wow - a year with no Star Trek
At least no new Star Trek. Maybe its good to give it a rest for awhile and stick to the rare film. The series has enough of a fan base to support a film series, but the shows were losing fans. This series was fair, but not great. I watched most of the first season and several episodes in the last two seasons. This year it seemed to get better.
