The official "I apologize to Barack Obama" thread.
Seeing as how Mr. Obama did not actually request Shrub's autograph, and seeing as how some seem to have confused Obama with Harold Ford, and seeing as how we seem to like to build our leaders up only to tear them down at the slightest provocation, I thought it would be a nice gesture to atone for our sins in a little exercise here in the Lounge.

So, for all that we said yesterday after the SOTU, I apologize, Senator Obama. You still represent a lot of the hope I have for the future of this country.

1. There are a lot of wankers on this board
The first one to say "but those people all look alike" gets his teeth kicked in. :grr:

vs.

There is some similiarities with their haircut & build. And those ears - they both stick out there. I didn't see anyone getting Bush's autograph but if it was from the back I could see the confusion

HOWEVER, let's hope there is a big difference in their ideologies because Ford does tend to be a moderate

2. Kick
Perhaps those owing Obama an apology are not online right now.

That previous thread is an embarrassment. Thanks for posting this.

6. Well they do all look alike
It's hard to tell these politicians apart with their fake smiles and empty promise and their tailored suits. I gave up trying a long time ago.

the others were taking him at his word that he had seen Obama requesting the autograph.

22. It's that "burn the witch" mentality
That many people have when it comes to Obama. Almost as if they are looking for a reason to tear him down.

Personally, seeing as I voted for him and feel that I have some vested interest in what he does, I prefer to wait more than a month to bring out the shackles and lighter fluid.

Who knows, maybe he will turn out to be a disappointment. Maybe he'll turn out to be the next Paul Simon (who was his mentor, btw). All I know is that it's impossible to tell after four weeks in office. You see, I don't believe in psychic powers, so I don't believe any of us can actually see into the future and predict what will happen. If we could, wouldn't most of us have won the lottery by now? ;-)

16. Well that makes a hell of a lot more sense
I suggested last night that if it were true, Obama was getting it to wipe his ass with.

Harold Ford makes more sense because he was about to throw out his back jumping up to applaud bush every 30 seconds last night.

I never DID believe Obama got his autograph! How's THAT? LOL!

18. Very nice of you to do this
I didn't see it so I didn't comment last night. Now I'm glad I didn't.

Although I am still peeved at his voting record thusfar, I am a big fan and am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.
