Anyone watch NFL countdown last night? |
|
I didn't but from second hand accounts by a friend, Tom Jackson was not the only one that had issues with old Rushie.
Last night Chris Berman said that Rush promised he would not throw the social/political commentary that he is famous for, and just what he ended up doing last week. This aparently echoed by Steve Young. Berman also noted that Rush took the fun out of getting up and preparing for the show.
Any one else hear this? Note that I didn't look at any other boards and sorry if this is a dupe. It's too early for me and the GD board.

1. Actually, Countdown airs Sunday mornings. |
|
10:30 ET, check local listings. :7
I watched. All of the remaining men on the show addressed the audience. Your synopsis is pretty accurate.

4. I guess I was thinking of Prime Time |

I rarely ever watch Countdown and only caught parts of Prime Time this year.
I never could understand the addition of Rush. All the others had such comeraderie over the years. Why put a bomb thrower in there.
Whoever thought of hiring Rushie must have been the same ones who thought New Coca Cola was a great idea too.

2. I thought Jackson handled it very well "It was not our decision..." |
|
He pretty much slammed the management for the decision. Overall I thought they were upfront and direct about it.
As my wife said it was kind of like when someone busts on you a little and you don't realize until a minute or so afterwards. Jackson said he was trying to think up a response that dealt with the football side of it because he hadn't caught the other part, Berman said he missed it too and he is a broadcaster.
