Does anyone here like the new Battle Star Galactica?

1. I'll think it's very good

2. They have been doing good character development.

The story line has a few weak spots but is good. I hope it takes off.

4. It's good if you're not too attached to the old Battlestar.

I still can't wrap my head around Starbuck as a woman. Boomer, sure. Starbuck, no.

5. I love that twist. Same attitude in a woman. Very 2005.

I like strong women characters and in life. Bleeeck I hate the thought of "poor little ol me" type women.

6. Don't get me wrong.

I tend to gravitate toward strong woman characters. But...but....It's Starbuck, the studliest stud with feathered hair in history of sci-fi.

I'd argue that without the gender-switch, the Starbuck character would seem that much more ineffective when held up against the original. As a woman, the new Starbuck is forced to be different enough which allows her to escape the Mighty Dirk's shadow.

At the same time, it's really cool how the new actress incorporates so much of the Mighty Dirk's attitude and manner into her character. I'd be surprised if she didn't closely study the original series.

7. I think it is pretty good

I think they have 11 episodes in the bag and they are broadcasting #5. So far they have lost half the water, half the pilots (drone accident), and now 43% of fuel reserves for the fighters.

Should be an intresting second half of the first batch of episodes.

Next Tuesday 6-11pm episode encores of all the first episodes.

then take a break for few months and show the final 11 eps or is it 11 for the season ?
