8. That was 1980. Shalamar's big one in 1982 was "A Night To Remember."
Which, by the way, is my favorite Shalamar record!

9. I was ten....that was a long time ago...
I lived at the skating rink...Joan Jett for sure, was Pac man Fever out yet, or was that a little later? (I spent a lot of time skating in circles, the years are blurred together)

24. XTC's English Settlement came out that year
The big hit off that record was "Senses Working Overtime," but there were a bunch of great songs on that record: "Ball and Chain," "No Thugs in Our House," "It's Nearly Africa"...

Also released in 1982 was Thomas Dolby's Golden Age of Wireless, and I've always loved "One of Our Submarines." In fact I got that record on CD last year and have been playing it obsessively lately.
