4. You're kidding right?
NASTY shit!!!!!!! It seems like the taste will never get out of my mouth. Codeine makes me barf, but I can take Vicodin in low doses, as long as I don't plan to stay awake for very long.

14. Nyquil is nasty
It does knock me out, but doesn't really make me feel better. Plus, I'm on so many meds already, I'd be afraid to mix them with that.

6. No codeine for me
I like my food to exit in the proper manner, not the way it came in.

10. I didn't even know they *made* vicodin cough syrup...
I hate it myself, I don't feel cool *at all* when I take it. It has to give different people a different feeling. Do you at least get good sleep when you take it?

12. I definitely don't feel cool
I know it's time to lay down when I get slightly nauseated. I don't barf, just sleep. The first night I took it, I had the most fucked up dreams. I woke up going :wtf: I did sleep good though.

15. Does it help if you eat a little something with it?
That really sucks btw, I feel for you.

I know a guy that fought bronchitis infections for years and then he found this stuff called microstat and since he's taken it he hasn't had one. I think he started it four years ago.

16. Actually, no. If there's food in my stomach, it works hard at coming up
I eat a couple of hours before i take it...that way my stomach's no completely empty, but the food isn't ready for an instant rebellion either.

A few years ago, I had bronchitis for two straight months. Even the Vicodin ough syrup wouldn't stop the coughing. They finally figured out it was adult onset asthma. Now I take Singulair every night at bedtime, suck down Advair twice a day, don't leave home without my Albuterol inhaler. Now I'm adding antibiotics twice a day and the cough syrup to the mix. Oh, and don't forget the muscle relaxers for my fucked up back. I haven't gotten brave enough to mix those with the cough syrup yet, despite the muscle spasms.

17. Yep. You're a mess. Maybe you should try
acupuncture. It's pretty successful with asthma. Actually the back pain would probably be helped by it too.

You're smart not to mix the muscle relaxers with the vicodin! I'm sure you'll be signing off any minute now. Have a goodnight and hope you get better soon!

18. Did the chiropractor thing for years
Just doesn't seem to help anymore. I do have a massage therapist though. It's gotten to the point where it takes me days to recover from a visit though. Acupunture makes me shudder...I hate needles. Yes, the world is getting fuzzy, but I'm still hanging in.

You need something to help that's for sure!

I was told I need to see an orthopedic surgeon. YIKES! I once worked with a lady who had the same back problems as me...they ended inserting a steel rod in her back to keep her straight...OUCH!!!!!!

20. Unfortunately both me and my husband do
Tried to quit many times, never worked. I've always had bad sinus and allergy problems, and had an uncle who had asthma as a kid but outgrew it. Looking back, I wish they had not sold me cigs at the ripe old age of 14.

23. I thought so
When you have bronchitis for two months and use Advair and albuterol and such. I'm in the same boat. It's so hard to quit. Sometimes I wish that they'd ban cigarettes. If we didn't have 'em, we couldn't smoke 'em. All that, and my mom died from lung cancer and I'm still addicted. I hate it.

25. They told me that I was probably predisposed anyway
Even if I hadn't been a smoker....Of course, the smoking doesn't help. I have gone for 10 hours or more (awake) without a cig, but eventually I light up.

27. Elixir of turpenhydrate with codeine.
Also called "GI Gin" because it was given out in the military for any kind of cold, it's basically 86 proof cough syrup with 10 milligrams of codeine per teaspoon. It didn't cure your cold, but two teaspoons of that stuff and you slept through the entire cold. lol

Damn, suddenly I miss the military. lol
