My daughter told me the sweetest thing tonite

When i was putting her to bed she said "You're the bestest mommy i ever have in my whole life". I choked up, it was so cute.....so i told her she was the best Jada I ever have in my whole life.....it was so cute....i was all teary eyed....:cry:


i know i goof off a lot but i love being a mommy :)

10. Children give Life new meaning....

I have two wonderful Daughters myself and I can completely relate to your strong parental feelings.

Enjoy every moment while you can.... We (my wife and I) dropped our Senior off Thursday at the College she will be attending this fall. It was quite the milestone...first its walking then getting out of diapers, their first day of school, first day of high school .... it seemed like college was always somewhere way in the future....

My Wife and I reminisced about her growing up all the way home... we go to pick her up tomorrow.... where we will also be given a tour of the campus and meet some of the staff.

Every parent here.... will agree with me... Time goes by way faster than you realize. Make EVERY moment count while your children are young.

11. i can see that already.

it seems like yesterday she was still a baby and nursing. it does go by so fast. and i remember back then, thinking how i couldn't wait till she could talk and walk and do all of what she is doing now, and then now i look back and remember how much i enjoyed THOSE days.....

it really is a journey and i love it all the way.

She's pregnant again and she REALLY wants a girl. I have a feeling she's going to have another boy though :)

However...Our story is quite fasinating...

My wife is a diabetic... since age nine. We lost our first Daughter in the ninth month of her pregnancy. We tried again and had a miscarriage. The doctors here in Michigan recommended that she get her tubes tied because she was just too high risk. We didn't have insurance at the time so we held off from the procedure. We were both looking for work, my wife being a school teacher and I being a jack of all trades.(1985) What is the prime need of school teachers? Students of course...so my wife called the state education system of the most prevalent child producing state in the union...Utah.

With that... she did get a teaching position in the Jordan district of Salt Lake City. So we now had insurance and made the appointment to get my wife's tubes tied. I will NEVER forget Dr. Farnsworth after giving her a check up... stating... "Well, I would be happy to do the procedure however, there is no reason you can't have children."

We were stunned.... when we asked him why the Michigan specialists would recommend sterilization and now you say... go ahead and have children. He said...

"Because the prevailing religion of Utah puts such importance on having children, many diabetic women that should never attempt to have them... do anyway. This FORCES the Doctors to get tremendous experience with diabetic pregnancies. Your pregnancies won't be easy...but you can have children.

With the help the University of Utah care .... those very difficult pregnancies produced two beautiful little baby girls. One born in June and the other in August of the next year. Being a school teacher we had to have them in the summer...LOL...

A side note... when my oldest was three.... we were a park in Salt Lake one day... and she says... "This is my favorite park, I always love coming here." We told her that this was the first time that we had been to that particular park.... She says... "No.... I waited a long time for you and Daddy to come to Utah."

I never again questioned why would I end up in a sea of conservatives when I am as liberal as it gets.

Destiny plays a larger role in our lives that we would like to admit.

18. Before we had children....

I always thought that I wanted kids that DID push the envelope. It shows intelligence. The challenge is for the parents to guide them properly. We were fortunate to be on the same page...(my wife and I) when it came to discipline. She had an early childhood minor and I just had lots of experience with kids...being the second oldest of 16 children.

We always tried to make sure that EVERY day had more positives than negatives for our children. That is not easy to do... but for every no.... you have to give them two yeses.

Also..NEVER give in. If you say no... it has to mean no. I can count on one hand the times I changed my mind. We drew very clear lines for our children and both have excelled in everything they pursue.

It seems like just yesterday we brought the munchkin home from the hospital.

You are right -- being a parent is awesome. All my life I told myself that it was no big deal if I never had kids -- I never had that "urge" to be a father. Now that I have experienced it...I wouldn't trade it for the world.
