Judas Priest Offers "Retribution"

Judas Priest is hell-bent on making a comeback. After patching up their relationship with headbanging frontman Rob Halford in 2003, the British metal mavens will unleash their first album of new material in 15 years followed by a world tour.

Angel of Retribution, featuring such ditties as "Deal with the Devil," "Demonizer," "Judas Rising" and "Hellrider," is scheduled to invade stores March 1 on Epic Records.

This is the the first time the original lineup of Halford, guitarists Glen Tipton and K.K. Downing, bassist Ian Hill, and drummer Scott Travis has been in a studio together since recording 1990's Painkiller.

Coproduced by the band and Roy Z, the new album will be available as a dual-disc set featuring the Angel CD along with a documentary DVD of behind-the-scenes footage, music videos, photo galleries and live performances of songs like "Breaking the Law," "Hell Bent For Leather" and "Living After Midnight" culled from two shows performed in a bullring in Spain last year. The second version will be a limited-edition double-disc set that will include the CD/DVD combo bundled in a special hardcover package.

3. I see they still love the leather queen style.
They're album cover looks so retro. Why the lyrics couched in religious conflict all the time? Why not have songs like "Barebackin' on a bike" or "Leather sling, Studs that Sting"?

8. Unfortunately no! Too many teenage rednecks bouncing...
Edited on Sat Feb-05-05 02:21 PM by Touchdown
...their flowing shoulder length blond heads in mock head giving neck dance, all the while remarking that "Halford may be a faggit, but he's one of the good ones, besides none of the others are (was that you in 1984 Chicagojoe? ;) ). And Freddie never was a faggit, so shut up!" -They never did get the symbolism of this band's image.:D

Songs like...
Hell Bent for Leather
Jawbreaker
Living After Midnight (Gay bars don't start hopping until then)
Fever (Taking poppers)
Breakin' the Law (Ok not really)

EDIT:
We feel so close to heaven in this
roaring heavy load
And then in sheer abandonment, we
shatter and explode.

Only one usually explodes in straight sex.

9. Of course I'm joking.
Just wanted to see if metal fandom is as possessive as it was when I was in high school. If you contradict their pre-concieved ideas about their favorite bands, then they think you insulted their mothers. It's fun! I just like the irony of a homoerotic rock band having legions of homophobic fans, not that anyone here suffers from that. I'm just saying.

For the record, I always liked them, and thought they were a fun band. It's just the Goth-Metal was done to death by the early 80s, besides The Cure did goth and doom better than any Metal band did. Really now...It's 2005, they don't have to hide behind it anymore. The sex songs were always better anyhow.

7. I'm pretty sure Halford's the only leather queen in Judas.
Sure can fuckin' scream. Can't wait for the tour.
