Question...If i do get the call from my boss this weekend...
What do I say? I know what I'd LIKE to say, but I don't think I should say it. If you don't know what I'm talking about, read this:

1. Say thanks and hang up
then proceed with your other plans to turn them in and make their life hell.

2. Ha! I'll have to resist the urge to say
Great! Thanks for lessening the stress levels in my life and preventing ulcers. Oh, by the way, your life is about to get REALLY interesting!

5. Also, I figure that she'll wait until Sunday night
Probably late, to call me. She does everything at the last minute. so, I guess I have a little time to plan. I don't want to go off on the woman, but I'm at the threshold of my tolerance level with her, so I think I need to have a prepared speech ready. Hmm, maybe * will loan me the hump in his back so someone can whisper what to say into my ear.

11. No doubt
BTW...what's the time frame to be eligible for unemployment in your state? Perhaps you should have that info handy to begin your reign of terror. Also, if she has snooped on your internet experiences then she no doubt knows your handle here...careful...you might be fired for cause if that's the case (sorry to be the bearer of bad news)

4. I wouldn't say much at all.
I'd just remind her that any negative recommendations to your next potential employer could be grounds for a defamation lawsuit and you would definitely be taking that route.

My favorite walkout line I've ever used:

I handed my ID badge to my boss and told her "Life is just too short to spend it working for someone like you."

13. I love that line!!!!
I've spent so much time dealing with asthma and back problems since i started working for these people...all aggrevated by stress. Oh, and I'm sure that the remodeling of the office literally right around me has had something to do with the astma issues too. One day, we had to open every door and window in the place...Her brother-in-law (doing the work) was using stain to make the walls in the kitchen and bathroom area look antique-ish. I thought I was going to die.

6. Make her sweat.
Just be gracious and say, Thank you for informing me. Now I can move on with life.

Don't make it sound as if you are desperate for a job, that's giving her the power.

Good luck!

7. I'm not desperate anyway
I have a pretty good shot at a much better paying job, which I hope to hear on soon anyway. She owes me for two and a half hours of pay from Friday...wonder how long it will take me to get that small amount of money?? I was out on payday one, when I went back to work, found out that she had not run payroll because she had been shopping at the mall and someone stole her bags. She was so traumatized, she forgot about payroll. The freeper was steaming...he was at work on payday, and didn't get paid. I love the organization these people exhibit.

8. I read both threads & I'm currently in a very similar situation. NSMA
has good advice above: don't tip your hand. The less you say to them, the better.

10. I won't tip them off...I'd just love to make them wonder WHY
their lives are about to be miserable.

Boss lady once told me (quite seriously) that she thought she was well off until she read an article about a guy who owned 12 airplanes. She now considers herself lacking financially. I wanted to tell her to try sweating over where your grocery money, or money for your light bill is coming from.

14. But then they have time to cover their asses. Better that they have
a false sense of security. Just my $0.02. I wish you the very best and keep us updated.

It's a family business right? And they treat family better than they trat everyone else? Deja vu.

9. Screen your calls with an answering machine.

She might get flustered and leave information you could use. :)
Also,I wonder if they installed on of those key-stroke spy thingies one your computer at work.

12. No machine to screen with
My cell phone has voice mail, so I guess she could leave a message there.

As for the key stroke spy thingy, who knows? Who cares? They know it hit DU from work, she logged on to my computer from her house a couple of times when I was here...then called me to "apologize" for not giving me warning (yeah right!). My philosophy...As long a the freep could go to Drudge and Freep, then I could go where I wanted.
