9. Is this a quote? If it is you do not give attribution to the author?
Or is this your diatribe? It has been frequently remarked by whom? reserved to the people of this country, by their conduct and example, to decide the important question,...you mean like if torture is okay and we can invade any country we want cause we want to? that example? whether societies of men are really capable or not of establishing good government from reflection and choice, or whether they are forever destined to depend for their political constitutions on accident and force ...and this is why the United States was formed...to decide to force other political constitutions to be like US? I really do not like your new epitath.

11. It is a quote, or a rant if you prefer

Federalist #1, Alexander Hamilton 1787. He will not cause DU problems over a copyright, as it was meant to be freely republished, and in any case after more than 200 years, I think it is public domain.

If I am violating DU rules by not making the attribution, I will be happy to do so.

As to your liking it or not, take it up with Hamilton. He was writing to urge us to ratify the new constitution, the one we live under now. Personally, I do approve of our constitution. You are welcome to your view.

12. I took the quote out of context...which happens VERY often and when
it is not attributed there is not way to look it up in its full context. You can see my remarks and WHY I questioned that particular quote and how it CAN be construed. I can now read it within its original meaning and appreciate it rather than tear it apart and misunderstand the meaning you convey. Thanks for the enlightenment!
