As a child I fantasized that Captain & Tennille were my REAL parents
As a child I fantasized that Captain & Tennille were my REAL parents and one day they would come rescue me from my humdrum life.

Now I see it's just as well they weren't.

3. Dude! That is so seriously weird.
Why is it just as well? They might have been cool parents. Toni could sing. And the guy…uh, dressed like a yuppie captain real well. Didn't he play piano? It's been a while.

7. I'm thinking in the end I'd have been no better off than I am.
Plus I'd have to "come out" about my parents being Captain & Tennille!

13. You know what's even sadder?
I know EVERY word to that song. It was on the flip side of the "Love Will Keep Us Together" 45.

Jesus Christ, someone fuckin' shoot me.

14. I worked for the Captain and Tennille...
They used to own a recording studio here in LA that was a well known rock and roll studio. Guns n' Roses did their first album there as did Stone Temple Pilots.

Anyhow, I worked there as an assistant. The Captain lives in Nevada but would come down to LA every three months or so. It is so funny because the Captain is a quiet man in person, but when he gets up on that stage it is like someone flips a switch. He is quite a performer and you can see that he loves being up there.

17. Far too interesting....
I assume your parents were 'boring'?

How did you tolerate the 'music;?

Does this fantasy still re-occur in dreams?
