Two Kentucky State Troopers shot and killed a Daviess County, Kentucky man Saturday morning.
It happened before sunrise in Philpot, Kentucky.
Police were responding to a domestic dispute call.
Kentucky State Police said 39-year old Gerald Buschkoetter died at Owensboro Mercy Health Systems at 4:15 a.m.
He was shot while troopers were responding, along with Daviess County Deputies, to a 911 hang-up call in Philpot at 2:44 Saturday morning.
State Police say they arrived to find a domestic dispute in progress between Buschkoetter and his wife, Jamie.
Trooper Stu Recke says Buschkoetter was armed with two handguns and had fired several shots inside the residence.
Recke says troopers and deputies pleaded with Buschkoetter to put down his weapons, but Buschkoetter pointed a handgun at the officers.
That's when the two troopers, in fear for their own safety, fired their weapons
