I think I just broke my toe
(Could this be related to my 'Who else is far too drunk this early in the day' thread? :D)

I was going to the Ladies and kicked the utter shite out of the chaise and yes...there was a sickening crunch. At first it didn't hurt so bad (booze and all) but now there's a really nauseating deep throbbing thing goin' on. x(

Everybody get nekkid and play bongos and chant for my poor wee toe. :(

2. Yikes!
Can you move it at all?

A few years ago I kicked a rock (hidden under sand) reeeeeaaallly hard. It didn't break my toe, but it cracked my entire big toenail in half...diagonally!!!

3. Have another drink and put your foot up and
put an icebag on it. Nothing you can do for a broken toe, just try and stay off of it.

9. Yup
I broke another toe a couple years ago...my entire foot was swollen and purple. I went to the ER, feeling real pitiful and seriously injured. The doc basically stuck my 2 toes together with tape and was like "Have a nice day!"

:D

4. Ice it, elevate it, take some ibuprofen (if you tolerate this med)...
If it's swollen/painful/discolored tomorrow, see your doc. Get it checked out, just to be sure.
Take care!

5. Me thinks that you should get to the emergency room
at your local hospital. It may not hurt too much now, but you are going to be in a hell of a lot of pain tomorrow after the booze wears off. This is from the voice of experience. I broke an ankle when I had too much to drink.

13. My 25th b'day...
Was out drinkin' till like 3AM...came home and crashed. My b'room was on the top floor and the bathroom was on the bottom...I woke up, had to go, went downstairs but somehow missed the last one...hung in the air like Wile. E. Coyote for a couple seconds till I crumpled in a ball at the bottom of the stairs. Woke up, my ankle's like a freakin' basketball. x(

So yeah, if it's real bad in the AM I'll hit the hospital, even though they'll probably only apply the tape fix as I mentioned above... :(

Thanks, tho! :hi:

11. Just tape it up to stabilize it
if it isn't at a funny angle or something that's all the er would do. (Or at least that's all the third world vetranarians at Kaiser Permanente ever do.)

In my experience there's no point in going to the dr unless you're going to need pain meds (and for a toe you're probably just going to get motrin anyhow and you can give yourself the presctiption dose for less money and without waiting hours for triage.)

17. OUCH. You remind me of myself

I broke my arm a couple years ago during a game of touch football. (Yeah, I know.) I walked home with a six-pack and some BC Powder to numb the pain. Problem was, when the beer finally wore off, I couldn't move my arm anymore without excruciating pain.

I remember saying to my friends, "Nah, it's just a bad sprain." Turns out it went 9/10s of the way through the bone. Almost a compound fracture. I went into shock a little bit.

At least I didn't throw up in my mouth a little bit.

Playing the bongos for ya.

19. I have broken my little toe at least three times
two times it was at a right angle to my foot.

but here I have a pocket knife and we can take care of it, just bite on this stick and drink this bottle of jager.
