Did I do the right thing? I kinda snapped
My roommates CONSTANTLY leave shit in the washer and dryer...as if it's a drawer or something. I've asked a million times not to do so. They always still do.
Today I had a shitload of laundry to do...open the washer....clothes in there. So, I think "That's it, I'm sick of this shit, I don't care, it's all going in the dryer." I figure "hey shrink a couple shirts and maybe they'll take heed in the future."

Also, I had to take OTHER shit outta the dryer before I could throw this stuff in.

4. Dude, the fact that you put their clothes in the dryer
Is more than considerate. You could've just thrown their shit to the side. I think you did more than I would've done.

6. Keep two hampers nearby; one for washed clothes, one for dried
Throw the clothes into the respective hampers, but take something out when you do, and donate it later to your Salvation Army or whatever used clothing store for the poor. When they wonder what happened to their shirt, or pants, or socks, just give them a

8. Yeah, I think so.
The quickest way to enlightenment about one's inconsiderate behaviour is dealing with the consequences. Consider it your own brand of 'tough love.'

10. I did
ANd then when we were there I said "Okay, I'm going home I gotta do more laundry. ANd she said "What did you do with my stuff?"

I told her, she was like "SOme of that's not supposed to go into the dryer."

I was humble and apologetic, but I was thinking "Good" I hope it's fucked

12. Toss the crap on the floor!
Quickest way to get the hint. You are not your roommates laundry girl. If the roomie leaves the stuff in the washer and/or dryer then when it's your turn to use it just pull the roomies stuff out and toss it on the floor.

19. Easy fix...
The next time they leave clothes in the washer, dump a bunch of bleach in there. When they get home, apologize profusely and tell them you just assumed there wouldn't be any clothes in there since you had talked to them before about it, and you just dumped in the bleach for your laundry without looking. Remember to smile sweetly.

I just kept an extra basket in there and threw whatever she'd left behind in it when I needed to do laundry.

23. For the laundry that's left in the washer......
if it is damp just put it in a plastic trash bag and close it up tight and put it aside and do your laundry. By the time they think of it and go and open up the bag the smell should be strong enough to knock them over. You probably won't have to do it a second time.

24. Try bleach......
Your story kinda reminds me of one of those hidden camera shows (long since cancelled). On one of the episodes, they showed a security tape from a laundromat.

A guy comes into the laundromat to do his laundry. He puts his clothes in the washer, puts his coins in, turns the machine on, and leaves the laundromat for a while. Presumably to get a cup of coffee or something. While he is gone, some woman comes into the laundromat goes to the guys washign machine (still in use), looks in, sees the guys clothes in there and proceeds to take out the guys clothes, dump the guys clothes on top of the nearest washing machine, and put her clothes in. Thereby having her clothes washed at the guys expense. Then she leaves the laundromat for a little while.

The guy returns to the laundromat, goes to his machine, finds his wet clothes piled on top of the other machine, looks inside the machine that his clothes was supposed to be in and sees the womans clothes in there getting washed. The guy walks off camera, returns with a big jug of bleach and proceeds to dump the WHOLE bottle of bleach into the machine with the womans clothes! Then he grabs his wet clothes and storms off, out of the laundromat.

A little while later, the woman returns, waits for her clothes to finish washing. Then she grabs her clothes only to notice that her things are all bleached out!

According to the program, they never caught the guy who did it. The security tape wasnt too clear, and the guy never came back to that same laundromat.

All you did is their work for them. You moved the clothes from the washer to the dryer. They should pay you.
