Lovesickness Can Be Fatal
<snip>

THE concept of lovesickness might be more than just a flighty poetic notion, as it can burden the afflicted with genuine mental trauma, a British psychological study warned today.

In the most serious cases the "disease" can prove fatal, the researchers said, calling for lovesickness to be taken more seriously by the medical profession.
For many centuries, the manias, depressions and obsessions associated with romantic love were considered a genuine state of mind rather than an affectation, clinical psychologist and author Dr Frank Tallis said.

However, in the past two centuries lovesickness had fallen out of favour as a proper diagnosis, Tallis said in a report for The Psychologist magazine, the official publication of the British Psychological Society.

In the modern era, while love was still associated with madness, this was only likely to be in the lyrics of a pop song, Dr Tallis noted.

"The average clinical psychologist will not receive referral letters from GPs (general practitioners) and psychiatrists mentioning lovesickness," Dr Tallis said.

"However, careful examination of the sanitised language will reveal that lovesickness may well be the underlying problem.

"Many people are referred for help who cannot cope with the intensity of love, have been destabilised by falling in love, or who suffer on account of their love being unrequited."

Symptoms can include mania, such as elevated moods and inflated self-esteem, depression, or obsessive compulsive disorder, such as repeatedly checking for emails.

The most serious cases could lead to suicide, the article said.

"Although there is much modern research into the treatment of relationship and psychosexual problems, there is little dealing with the specific problem of lovesickness," Dr Tallis said.

"Perhaps now is the time for us to take it more seriously and take a lead from those ancient clinicians who diagnosed and treated it like any other complaint."

1. Love-sickness is a withdrawal from a Phenal..amine similar to Amphet'amines'
Edited on Mon Feb-07-05 07:53 AM by sam sarrha
like amphetamine's the dose increases on a curve to attain an effect level. like amphetamines there is a line when crossed NO effect is received.. that is when she says.."I love you but i am not IN love with you." and goes off to get a fix from someone else.. or he. it is a very string very addictive drug, as those who have had 'rebound' relationships know.. "??Why did i do that"???

The body produces these powerful drugs as a result to ritual signals in the 27 step mating ritual of our sepcies..

yes folks we are Animals..!!! aint it great:hurts:

4. It is called Aversion, that is why older men entertain fantasy's of younger
Edited on Mon Feb-07-05 08:47 AM by sam sarrha
women but would Never do it because older people know the consequences of hormonal love.. and most younger people haven't given it up yet.

it is doomed to failure by design.. it is a mechanism to produce a child from a different man every 2 years so that a womans offspring will have different DNA. if there is disease or whatever, some of her offspring might have a better chance of survival.. whereas if all were from one sperm donor, they might all perish.

My Xwife collects DNA, she has 5 children from 4 different men, all about 2 years apart.

this has been common knowledge for at least 40 years, or longer.
but it will never be taught because of the Sanctity of Marrage, and all that 'Religious' bullshit that makes screwing OK.

it is called "The Blind Eye of Science", ignore it if you want ot keep your Grant and your job.

3. Tit willow, tit willow, tit willow
On a tree by a river a little tom-tit
Sang "Willow, titwillow, titwillow"
And I said to him, "Dicky-bird, why do you sit
Singing 'Willow, titwillow, titwillow'"
"Is it weakness of intellect, birdie?" I cried
"Or a rather tough worm in your little inside"
With a shake of his poor little head, he replied
"Oh, willow, titwillow, titwillow!"

He slapped at his chest, as he sat on that bough
Singing "Willow, titwillow, titwillow"
And a cold perspiration bespangled his brow
Oh, willow, titwillow, titwillow
He sobbed and he sighed, and a gurgle he gave
Then he plunged himself into the billowy wave
And an echo arose from the suicide's grave
"Oh, willow, titwillow, titwillow"

Now I feel just as sure as I'm sure that my name
Isn't Willow, titwillow, titwillow
That 'twas blighted affection that made him exclaim
"Oh, willow, titwillow, titwillow"
And if you remain callous and obdurate, I
Shall perish as he did, and you will know why
Though I probably shall not exclaim as I die
"Oh, willow, titwillow, titwillow"
