Wow! What changed stripping?
And when did this change occur? I'm watching a documentary on stripping on cable right now. It was made in the 80's. The stripping profession has changed A LOT!

The major differences I'm seeing, no lap dances. No women just standing there pouting, shifting from side to side and occasionally doing someting on the pole. I'm viewing many actual PERFORMERS, that are dancing and have created actual ACTS. The women don't look artificial or enhanced. They look real, natural, and some are very good dancers actually.

Oh and no breast implants, collagen lips, or bleach blondes. Many of the women in this documentary are very small (breast wise) but no less sexy.

Hmmmm...., interesting...

5. Fox Movie Channel
It's called Stripper, a documentary by Jerome Gary, 1985. If it's not on where you are, I think you may be able to rent it. I've seen it at video stores on VHS.

:)

7. Me too (sigh)
I have nothing against large breasts--or implants. But in the stripping field, they seem a cliche now. Or some sort of 'tool of the trade.' Sadly, now so many of the women in the field just look exactly alike. What's sexy or attractive about that?

In the film I'm watching, you get to see these women making artistic statements with their costumes and choreography. That's kinda' cool.

Speaking of 'small boobs' it seems Playboy is looking for more 'natural women' these days, too. I guess they are sick of all the enhancement too...

4. Here is an early strip show movie
http://www.archive.org/stream/stripper_red-headed_riot/stripper_red-headed_riot_64kb.mp4

Quicktime format. I find it fascinating what "tittilated" men during this era. (1930's? 40's?)

Don't worry, mods, naughty, not filthy!

8. Thank you-- I love burlesque!
I guess why this may be why there is a resurgence of this kind of thing in the country. People want to be 'teased' and have things suggested as opposed to just out right 'BAM--Here it IS!' LOL!

9. Seriously--anyone got any theories on how
the industry changed?

If women w/small breasts and actual acts were appealing in the 80's, why in the 90's and beyond did it become what it is now?

10. In my youth.........there was some mystique
they wore pasties and costumes...of sorts....now it nothing at all and a lot of body modifications. One could go out and watch a few dancers and have a drink, now it non-alcoholic and most dancers have issues, drugs, alcohol, etc. just doing it for tips. I think the day of the professional is long gone.

11. Yes there was a kind of mystique about it all.
The women made a coy little game about stripping, revealing little by little, making you wanting to see more. And heightening the arousal factor for me. Nowadays, they jiggle around for one song and the clothes come right off and they're in the crowd milking you for dollar bills.
