Poll question: Favorite Allman Brothers Band tune
Another one of those "too bad there's only 10 slots" deals. I wish I could put on "Wasted Words," "Angeline," and "Jessica," among many others. Am also anticipating support for "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed."

11. Second that
It's the Allman Brothers' signature tune. How can that be left off the list?

14. Those Would Be My Two Faves Too
For a song with vocal, i'd say Trouble No More.

5. "Dreams I'll Never See," oh HELL yeah!
For me, this was where ABB proved they had the chops to set themselves head, shoulders and ribs above the Southern Rock poseurs. Even if Duane was opposed to "playing them space chords," the band sure could lay 'em down!

7. Les Brers In A Minor
Or the live version of "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed" from 'Fillmore East'.

Must add: "Nobody Knows" from 1991's 'Shades of Two Worlds'.

8. Elizabeth Reed
Also very fond of "Revival," "Hot Lanta," "One Way Out," "Trouble No More."

Largely because (except for "Hot Lanta") bands I was in used to play these tunes. But I did pull Live at Fillmore East (original version) out of mothballs last month and listen to it pretty hard.

Suddenly the band I'm in now is acting suspiciously like a jam band. If we could just learn some of the classic songs...

9. Trouble No More
even though it's not an original, Duane's slide tone on the studio version of that song made me pick up slide guitar.

13. Elizabeth Reed !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
One of the highlights of 1971 was my having a press pass to their October 15th Syria Mosque show in Pittsburgh, co-produced by Pitt and CMU.

It allowed me everywhere, including up on stage. I have a magic roll of slides of what turned out to be Duane's next to last concert. About ten of the images are real cool.

I have often wondered if there may be some people who would buy copies. Any advice?

16. No advice here
except maybe keep me in mind if you decide to sell copies. Those sound pretty cool! I love the Allman Brothers Band. Alas, I never got a chance to see Duane Allman, but have heard everything that I know of he ever recorded.

23. love them all
but voted for "Little Martha". Not long after Duane died, I dreamed that he showed me how to play it. And damned if it wasn't spot-on, went to the guitar when I woke up, and there it was.
