It seems like every major holiday is always built up with commercialism. No kidding. New Year's, Valentine's Day, Fourth of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas. It is obvious people do it to line their pockets. It is interesting that with some holidays you don't hear quite as much decrying the commercialism while others do. Valentine's Day gets attacked for blatant commercialism moreso than any holiday. I agree with a lot of these attacks, but why do some holidays get lambasted for blatant commercialism moreso than others in your mind? For me, at least with Christmas, I feel included whereas with VD, I don't. Halloween and Thanksgiving I feel included. 4th of July too. Those are my reasons for lambasting some holidays more than others over commercialism. How about you? This isn't a rant. I am making an observation.
