1. Hootie and the Blowfish
I saw them in concert when that cd they had out was big time. They were not bad in concert but they've done shit since.

11. Did anyone see Creed's lead singer on Celebrity Poker?
He was a total douche.. and a dumbass. Exactly what I expected. I've know lots of fake musicians who acted exactly like him.

4. Boston
They may be the kings of that phenom.

Also a band whose first two albums I like, Klaatu, did 3 others I think and I can't stand any of them.

As the old saying goes, you have your whole life to prepare for the first one and less than a year for the second.

18. I beg to differ on Boston...
The second and third albums Don't Look Back and Third Stage were pretty good, but Walk On and Corporate America were pretty spotty...the thing that pisses me off about Boston is always waiting about 7 years for them to release their next album...

21. yep
drank himself out of the band and then killed himself after they fired him.

he was the singer too. They never recaptured that sound. New Miserable Experience was a great record though.

19. 3 good albums
1 - Definitely Maybe (1994): awesome. Some of my favorite songs. Essential and unfortuntely little-known in the US.

2 - (What's the Story) Morning Glory? (1995): Bigger success, not as good as the debut. But still great

3 - The Masterplan (1998) - little-known b-sides compilation that is better than Morning Glory. In the UK, Noel Gallagher dumped most of his best songs on his singles so that his band could make must-have 4-track EP's - some of the best ones are showcased on this compilation

After that it was downhill. Third album is an overblown mess. Fourth one is alright - subdued in a good way - but boring. And the fifth is okay but nothing special.

13. That's why I respect the Beatles so much
Their albums kept getting better and better until they broke up. They were the anti-one-hit-wonder band.

22. Blind Mellon
Although their second album was alright...it wasn't anywhere near as good as the first...and they never had a chance to redeem themselves
