since I would have only five more days to pull off such a miracle. I hate how all the stores, restaurants, ad agencies, etc., just naturally assume that EVERYONE has a "sweetie" and bombard everyone everywhere all the time with VD stuff. Thanks, guys, for making the rest of us feel like nothing losers, like there's something wrong with us if we aren't part of a couple.

If I see one more ad for "romantic gifts she'll/he'll love", one more fucking florist ad, one more romantic card section, one more ad for restaurant "romance specials", one more ad for "romantic getaways", or one more goddamn "romantic jewelry/engagement ring" ad, I swear to Christ I'm going to throw something. And if I see one more heart-shaped box of candy, especially the ones with the velvet covering, I'm going to shove those chocolate fuckers up the manufacturer's ass. And I'm SOOOOOOOO dreading the office on that day, because I know exactly what's going to happen; the women will all get "special delivery" flowers or big, beautiful, "specially made" heart-shaped boxes of candy, or a dozen fresh long-stemmed roses, etc., etc., yaddayaddaydaddayadda. And once again I'll sit at my empty desk and have to endure all the damn "looks" (you know what I mean, all the falsely condescending what's-the-matter-with-you looks). Just once, I WANT TO BE THE ONE WHO GETS THINGS LIKE THAT. And I'm not talking about the fucking "consolation prizes" people seem to love to offer us, including the "well, why don't you go out with friends on that day" bullshit.

And how many of us get this bullshit, that I'm so sick of: Oh, you know, it's really just another day, it's not that big a deal, you shouldn't need to be with someone on this day to validate yourself, blahblahblahblahblahblah. Usually spoken by people who already have someone on VD day and who have no idea what a royal goddamn pain in the ass it really is to those of us who DON'T.

Okay, end of childish, immature temper tantrum meltdown. I know I'm gonna feel stupid at how this looks in the morning, lol! Guess I've just kept this bottled up too long, no one around me wants to hear it because they're all married or involved.
