TV Superman George Reeves committed suicide.
Chris Reeves paralyzed in a polo accident, of all freakish things.
The Suprman originators and the very first Superman had career nosedives after ending their involvement with Superman.

Geez! I wouldn't play Superman any more than I would join the SNL cast if I was a funny white fat dude.

Alyn didn't have a career before Superman so it really isn't fair to say his career nose-dived after Superman.
