1. Ok, ok, I'll start.
I still buy diapers at WalMart.

I'd consider myself to lean strongly towards fiscal conservatism, in the balanced-budget sense (but is that really wrong?)

Our cars only get mediocre gas mileage.

I have yet to march in D.C.

I have yet to volunteer in this community since moving here 4 months ago :(

I thought NAFTA was a good idea. Then I went to work at the AFL-CIO and learned the truth. I have reformed.

I was young and it was a damn non-partisan election. I'm sorry!

5. I actually voted for Tom Ridge once...
..he was running against an anti-choice Casey democrat and I knew Ridge to be pretty moderate and pro-choice.

I never realized the man was braindead until he took over homeland security

16. Just prior to DHS app't he was Library Journal's "Politician
of the Year." That is quite an honor, particularly for a Republican.

Big supporter of public libraries; he jumped the shark big time to work for Bush, I believe.

8. I don't believe in the basic goodness of human beings.
Don't get me wrong. I think most people more or less mean well. But I am not dictionary-definition strict in my liberalism.

And I use too much water.

10. I support the death penalty.
I definitely feel it is merited in certain cases, although I concede that it is grossly abused in practice to the point where, especially in the South, it's essentially tantamount to legalized lynching.

17. I don't have any
I've never voted for a rethuglican. Ever. I believe the Democrats have moved too far to the right. I make Ted Kennedy look like a conservative. I'm a precinct chair. I go protest. I bake cookies for my fellow liberals. I work in State government for very little money because I actually (swear to deity of your choice) believe it's a calling and an honor to work for my fellow citizens.

I'm practically perfect in every (liberal) way...it probably turns people off...I suppose that could be my sin. :)

Oh, and I stopped being a vegetarian because of health-related reasons. Bad liberal...no donut.

18. I drive an Xterra
I still shop (only a few times a year!) at Wal-Mart...it's just so cheap! I have a Support The Troops yellow ribbon on my SUV (my son is a Marine...who voted for Kerry). I am guilty of gluttony---taking more than I need. Especially shoes and lip gloss. Yikes! I hate myself.
Ahhh. Confession is good for the soul.
Oh, and I had an affair with Bill O'Reilly. He's magic with a loofah.

All the other stuff is cool if you live in a rural area except the wall mart($50 donation to local charity) but for the affair with O'Liely you must bath yourself in clorox bleach and rub the stinch off with brillo pads.

29. So, would it be wrong
if I get Tom Delay to help me with the clorox bath stuff? I'm just not catching on to this lapse of liberalism atonement...I guess the highly improper (and yet, oddly unfulfilling), affairs with well-known conservatives are out.

Can't handle canvassing unless I'm dressed well--even my "canvassing" shoes have to be cute.

I tried to get a job with NewsCorp once. Does that count?

34. I think Rummy gives great press conferences
I know he's evil and all, but he is good in front of the camera.

I also voted for a republican for prosecutor, and always liked Barry Goldwater. I had to do a paper in college about the headlines during the week I was born (last week in October, 1964). The election was going on, and the Goldwater ads were hilarious. My favorite was the endorsement of a bunch of WWII vets that said "We Were Extremists, Too".

Kidding, that was too easy.

Ok, this one's for a real, and I'm not proud of it. *deep breath*......

I voted for Alan Keyes in the '00 Primary.

Let me explain before the stoning begins. I'm a registered independent, so I get to vote in any Primary election I want. He was up against Bush, who I already knew was a moron, and McCain, who I wouldn't even trust for Garbage Commissioner. He was all "blah, blah, pull out of NAFTA, blah, blah" and it sounded good. Compared to Bush, the man was a master orator as well. Little did I realize what a fundie whacko nutjob he turned out to be.
And trust me, you can't tell me anything about that I haven't already told myself.

And one more to get it off my chest: I think Condi Rice is an excellent piano player.
