I finally saw the movie "Pillow Talk" with Rock Hudson and Doris Day

Could Doris Day GET her hair any more platinum blonde?

Could Rock Hudson BE any more of a hunk of a man? My God, during the kissing scenes with her, I think *I* got dizzy.

VERY cute movie. Cheesy moments, but that's to be expected for 1959. Had to explain party line phones to my daughter. The theme song is stuck in my head.

Oh and the bathtub scene? (Nothing racy, but might have been racy for 1959.) LOVED it. Rock's LEG was even hot.

2. I saw this a couple of days ago

I just kept wondering how Doris Day could afford her wardrobe. And yes, he was pretty hunky, but I still prefer Cary Grant.

10. GOD I loved her wardrobe.

My favorite was the all white outfit with the short white fur coat when she was out with that horrid "Harvard man" who got drunk and was attacking her in the tiny car.

That sounds funny just typing it out.

7. I know

I go through phases when I watch old movies all the time, then I stop.

I don't have satellite or cable TV, and I don't ever watch network TV (except maybe the Britcoms on Sat nights on PBS), so this is my one watching activity.

I feel like I need to catch up on years and years of good old movies I've never seen (though I'll take a pass on the westerns).

Ahhhh, Pillow Talk was so cute.

I love the Black woman at the piano... the "Roly Poly" song is cute... but I thought it was funny when she starts singing "You Lied... You Dirty Dog... You Lied" after hearing Rock Hudson lie to Tony Randall, and then to Doris Day.

I don't even think she got a screen credit... I'll have to check IMDB.com... sometimes they list the names of many movie actors who were officially "uncredited".

8. Oh my gosh, I LOVED that woman!

When she kept staring over at them when Rock was explaining that he had to go away for the weekend, I turned to my friend (who brought the movie over) and said "She's NOSY!!!"

I LOVED Tony Randall in it, too. I've never seen that little smarmy side of him in a character before. And I was laughing my ass off when she was crying in the diner!

5. I saw that movie in the theater when it first came out!

I was a kid then and as I recall it cost 50¢ to get in. We used to go to all of Doris Day's movies in those days. Ah, the 1950's. *sigh*

11. I caught the last part on AMC and I bought the DVD the very next day.

I LOVED IT!! "Down with Love" with Renee Zellweger was supposed to be based on "Pillow Talk," but it was just a pale empty satire of the original movie.

I always wondered what the big deal was about Rock Hudson, now I know!

12. Yeah, I saw Down With Love several months back

when that first came out on DVD and I liked it just fine, but now that I've seen Pillow Talk, I like the older movie MUCH better.

And I officially have a crush on Rock Hudson. Even though he's no longer with us. :-(
