So I'm sitting here and my roomies are flipping the channels. Mississippi burning is on. And I'm like "Oh, good movie." We watch it for a couple minutes and she's like "I can't handle this movie, if we keep watching it I'm gonna cry."

So, that's it for Mississippi Burning (A movie my DAD took me to when I was nine without tears.

Now they're watching all about Charles and Camilla on Entertainment tonight.

It just makes me so mad...not the movie I couldn't care less about that. It's just the way people will watch that mindless shit like it matters..... it honeslty makes me mad that people JUST don't fucking care because they might feel sad or be scared.

If that attitidue was taken throughout history democracy wouldn't even be around.

Fuck it makes me mad

1. You changed your polar bear picture!
Now it's Polar Bear x 3...hmm...

PS, i hope you realize that although the film 'Mississippi Burning' says it's based on a true story, it couldn't be more inaccurate in regards to what really happened.

4. I agree.
There's frankly nothing that otherwise irritates me more is the shear stupidity most people possess. It's not like I'm not a person who can't stop and appreciate simpler things in life- children, animals, nature (not that they're always simple, but I digress). Anyway, my TV viewing consists of documentaries, some feature films, and stuff related to music. I can't stomach inane crap and most people (especially most other women I know personally) just don't 'get it'. It's either gear down on every level or not quite fit. I'll choose the latter.

5. Dude, ITA
I totally hear you on the gear down or not fit... My TV habits are pretty similar to yours, but I haven't even had TV for almost 2 years now... So I feel that.

I think that this attitude is sadly, really prevalent here. I posted on another message board I'm on about how torn up I was about looking at pics of kiddos in Iraq. And the only reply I got, out of 50 people, was one reply, from a Canadian (hugs to you guys, HeyHey). Eventually, other people posted about how they were to afraid to open my post, didn't think they could handle it, were afraid of what might be in it... can't face talking about it, never mind thinking about what we might be perpetuating in the world.

So yeah, I hear ya on that one. It sucks. But it only 1/2 sucks, because at least I know what the heck is going on in the world.

6. hahahahahahhahhaha! Not fucking caring rules!
Of course the coup de grace is when you are able to watch even the most serious footage and not fucking care.

7. Well, what's worse?
People not caring because they might feel sad or be scared, or people over-caring because they are sad, or are scared?

I'm thinking about when folks go all zealot for matters they know nothing about.

Wow... now I've depressed myself.
