Poll question: Tax Time: How much are you paying/getting back?

1. I'm getting hosed
It's the damn state taxes that are killing me.Fucking Oklahoma is taking just damn near as much as the Feds. What I can't figure out is what they do with the GD money. Worst roads in the country. $800.00 to rebuild the suspension on my car from driving on these shitty roads. I don't mind paying them if I see results, but shit, these fuckers must be pocketing most of it!

2. Ohio has high taxes too, but I'm still getting some back.

I just claim fewer exemptions. I hate to write checks.

Federal is always overpaid...by, like, 7 or 8 grand.

Local zeroes out for me. I pay 1.9% where I work and the city I live in doesn't charge if you pay 1% or more someplace else.

5. these cretins
here in Oklahoma are always crowing about what big "conservatives" they are, but then they charge 3.50 in toll to drive on a POS highway on top of all the tax they extract from us. They line the pockets of their "good ol' boy network" buddies with it and let everybody else eat cake.

6. Same here in Ohio.
The Ohio Turnpike Commission was established when the turnpike was built and was suppased to go away after the road paid for itself (yeah, right).

The damn road was paid for years ago, but we still have turnpike commissioners making huge salaries.

7. I hear ya
The Turner Turnpike, which paid itself off in 1975, i think, is still raking it in. I have to take it to work because the alternative route takes all freakin' day.

8. wrong question

Nobody is "getting" anything from the government.

The question is always HOW MUCH DID YOU PAY.
If you get a refund, you simply OVERPAID...but thousands were still taken out in FICA and income taxes.

Personally, I made just a 3% increase in wages over last year but for some reason my refund is larger than ever...up about $600

Looks like I finally got a benefit from the Shrub tax cuts..but I'd give it all up in a second to have him out of there.

9. Yeah, I know...I used it as a forced savings plan.
I don't miss it over the year and I wind up with 8k-9k every spring.

I'm just fiscally irresponsible and the chunk of money is nice.

11. I get EIC...I know they give me more than I paid them
We consider it a kind of bonus for paying out the ass for everything the kids need all year.
