1. See ya later alligator was around back in the 50s.
But I do recall that it had something of a renaissance in the 80s.

3. I definitely remember the phrase 'see ya later alligator' from the '80s.
However, I could have sworn that 'As if' was a '90s phrase, not '80s.

And hasn't 'yeah, right' been around forever?

4. Agree about "as if." What about "bunk"?
When did that become part of the vernacular again?

2. Later gater was '70's, for sure.
I think in the '80's it was "I'm outta here."

5. Way cool!
Gnarly post, dude! So gnarly it's awesome!
But "See ya' later alligator" is too fucking old...try to remember the old Hannah Barbera cartoon Wally Gator from the early 60s?

"Wally Gator is a swinging alligator in the swamp.
He's the greatest peculator when he really starts to romp.
There has never been a greater operator in the swamp.
See ya later, Wally Gator!"

Fuckin A !

6. Simple Scotty Gets In On The Act....
MR. McCLELLAN: No, no, that's not -- first of all, I totally don't involve myself in that process, it's handled at a staff level. Like I said, if the White House Correspondents Association ever wants to talk like, you know, about issues, I welcome that. But it like, you know, totally turns into an issue -- it like, you know, totally turns into an issue of where do you draw the line? Like, I am so sure! Do you draw the line at advocacy journalism because there are a number of shoppers that crossed that line, as I said? Like, I am so sure! But there's hard -- there's hard passes and there's daily passes, as you are well aware. For a hard pass, you totally have to totally have a House and Senate credential, you totally have to regularly cover the White House, you totally have to apply for it, you totally have to go through a detailed FBI background check.
