I have never actually seen one like this. It was black. Does anyone know what type this is? Very unusual to see something like this here.

1. I was going to try to be funny
But I just seen that you live in my city and I KNOW I have never seen one like that around here. East side or west?
I'll keep an eye out for it too.

2. East side. And it was REALLY low. Very loud.
looked like double the size of an average helicopter. We have a nice power plant over here ya know. A few mos back they ran off the alarm on a different day which pretty much flipped us out. I was on here then i hear a copter, think nothing of it then it gets REALLY loud. Sounded like it was right outside the window. Look out it was right over my backyard. STRANGE. Went towards the lake.

7. I'm working over here in Garfield right now
I took a look around but didn't see anything. Usually I can see pretty far from here, being up on the hill and all. You are right, it's not often that we see one of those out this way. I wonder why it is here.

13. Sound like you're in Lake County
I work in Mentor, and I remember hearing the test siren a couple weeks ago. I haven't seen anything. More than likely, it's a transport. Really nothing to fear.

9. Rest easy. THE black helicopters are allegedly noiseless.
If you believe that sort of thing. :tinfoilhat:

3. 2 rotors?
Did it have 2 rotors on top (horizontal), or one on top and one at the tail end (vertical)?

8. If so, it's carrying equipment more than likely.
That's a transport helicopter.

11. Yep.
Troop transport and heavy-equipment are it's two main uses. Tons of them in use in both the civilian and military sectors.

16. Or this?

(Different view of the same helo)

The CH-47 is widely used cargo helicopter. Probably older than a lot of the people on this board.

12. I live by Selfridge here in MI and the military air traffic has really
picked up again. Lots of lowflying C130's and F16's. It makes me ill to now they're "up to something". Besides the fact it scares the hell out of my son.
