"Lightning Crashes" by Live is the greatest song ever!

And a pox on anyone who doesn't like it. The album is great, and i saw them "live". They were among the few of that genre who actually could be tight, solid, and still have energy on live performance. Their studio work was "no tricks". They could reproduce what they did in the studio.

Smart lyrics, solid rocking songs, and a theme throughout the album. What's not to like?

I have never been a fan of that band, but in light of what you've said, I'll just say "to each his/her own" and leave it at that.

17. My son was born just 100 feet from where my father died.

In the same hospital, just down the hall, two years apart. That song really hits me (so does "the living years.")

18. The song came out just before my FIL died...we were close..

...then it helped me through my Mom's death and through the death at birth of my niece's baby.

I listen to songs for the lyrics more than anything else. When I listen to the words in that song, to this day, I can get teary. It is powerful in its own right, but even more so now.

Professor GAC, with whom I agree on many things, has decreed "a pox" on anyone who dislikes that song.
