Is it Possible to be Struck by Lightning & Not Know It?
Until much later, that is, when different odd things
start happening.

1. If it kills you instantly, yes
Then you start floating...

5. I think I was brushed rather than struck.
There were no marks on my skin, but I was
sunburned, but that could have been because I fell
asleep in a field sans clothing:
Taking a nap in a field.
Animal playing, burrowing, muttering.
Nearby, on a granite bluff, in a big conference hall a meeting,
National Girl Scout Leaders of America Conference.
Stormclouds came in but no rain. Dark but warm. I remember
the Girl Scout Leaders laughing in the distance
like the tinkling of little crystal chains, then a burst
of static in my ears, then woke in the middle of the night
in the field, deliriously thirsty. Went home, slept for
two days, woke with animal pulling me into kitchen by my
pajamas leg. Nothing happened after that for about a week.

6. You say that like it's a bad thing.
There are two sides to every story. But I'm not even sure
if I was, much less him. He has so many hats already,
how would I know?

3. Were you struck by lightning before finding Oscar?
That would qualify as odd.

:P

8. I know when people are going to say things.
Sometimes I can see behind me without turning my head.
I'm weeding and suddenly I can feel exactly what it feels
like to get pulled out of the ground by your roots.
I know how things are going to end on TV shows.
I get a stream of shared consciousness going with people
that are going the other way in their cars when we're
both stopped in a traffic jam with nothing to do.
I can hear the ur-silence behind all the sounds in the city.
I know exactly how many raisans there is in a bowl of Wheatinos.
Suddenly I have the picture image of a person that lives
on the other side of the world and I can see them looking
around wondering what is going on at the same time.
I can hold an unmarked video and know exactly what is on
it like I'm watching it in FF.
I can hold something, like a basket, and feel what the
person that made it was feeling when they were making it.
I can fall completely asleep inside while listening to
somebody saying something I'm not really interested in, and
they don't notice that I'm completely asleep while my eyes
are open and I'm nodding.
All of a sudden I feel sometimes like I'm an aquarium and
all kinds of different fishes are swimming around inside me
looking out.
Mainly little things like that, that of course I could
be wrong about in some of them, but if so,
"the persistence of this illusion is astonishing."
