Anybody else see the Vermont Teddy Bear Valentine commercial?
Anybody else notice yet that they changed the spot, so the honeys in the cubes in it don't say," It's bigger than I thought," and then, "I want to kiss it" anymore?

Uh,

SOMEBODY

must have bitched!!! Heh.

They just say, "It's bigger than I thought" now. No more kissy.

;)

1. Given that I'm single and unattached,
and at this time of year that's like being Jewish at Christmas time, I try to avoid Valentine's Day stuff as much as I can.

It does sound, though, like someone realized how that sounded and wimped out on the commercial.

2. Believe me, if you saw that spot, you would know...
...it was fully intended to sound that way! LOL

It is "overproduced," to be nice. Babbling babes. That's all you need to know.

5. It takes place in an office with cubicles
The women all look like strippers, the men are cut from the same cloth, popping out of their cubicles when they hear the naughty talk. Everyone has one of those "soap opera" style "meaningful looks" on their faces at the appropriate moments.

It's BEYOND hideous...not on a moral ground, simply on a production values/schlock/moron quotient perspective.

4. Between that stupid commercial and the one for the pajama-gram
You have to wonder how stupid advertisers think women are. And the sales pitch!!! It essentially consists of "Buy this crap, and it IS crap, online, and you will not sleep on the couch, no, you WILL GET LAID!!!!"

Obviously they are counting on men believing that. No one spends a fortune on that sort of advertising without getting a return.

Of course, there's no money in suggesting that paramours brush their teeth, take a shower on a regular basis, be helpful and supportive 365 days a year....naaah, be a stinky, drunken asshole 364 days a year, but buy a bear on the 14th! You'll git your swerve!

Oh, ye princes of stupidity, ye kings of banality!!!

6. Ya know, yes, it does demean women but it also...
...demeans MEN! Holy skunk fingernails, I am just a WEE BIT smarter than to think I'm gonna get to dip my wick cuz I mail-ordered my honeybunch a stuffed piece of hairy cloth.

7. It has to be one of the most idiotic displays I've ever seen
It's an insult to anyone's intelligence that has the misfortune to watch it.

Childishness on a grand scale.

8. Well, it ranks right up there with that Stepford
"All About the O" commercial for OVERSTOCK.COM...which I understand is owned by a fatcat contributor to the GOP.

That creepy woman is frightening....enough to drive women to the nunnery, and men to the priesthood! She's positively predatory, and she really thinks she's cool! She may as well say "I am a cheap whore who can be bought with merchandise, so buy me my merchandise from an outlet that specializes in crap that was overproduced, and undersold, for reasons of taste, quality, or poor production management!"

UGH!
