DVD releases you are waiting for...
Are there any movies or tv programs that you wish were released on DVD?
In the process, maybe we can help others locate something that has been released that he or she weren't aware of.
My pick: Mondo Elvis. Info here

This is an amazing look the weird side of Elvis fanatics.

Any others?

1. The 2nd and 3rd seasons of UCB.
That's Upright Citizen's Brigade for those of you not in the know.

Also, the film noir classic Double Indemnity. I read that Universal will release a new printing in 2007. It's currently out of print. :(

2. Appropriate for DU: "Reds"
Warren Beatty is probably having a hell of a time getting clearances for all the "talking heads" but I hope this eventually comes out (and in WIDESCREEN, please!).

10. SCTV had the same problem.
It took 20 years.
I'll keep my eye out for that one.

5. YENTL!!!!!
I know I'll take ribbing but I do love that movie....

I would also like to see the following on DVD

Welcome Back Kotter (at least the first two seasons before it seriously jumped the shark)

2004 was a good year for a couple of movies I was looking for on DVD, Star Wars and the Indiana Jones series.

6. I remeber that thread.
I liked that movie. I just bought "Funny Girl" a couple of weeks ago. I wish some of the 60's era Striesand tv specials that I'd like were out.

That was such a great show before the Phil Hartman tragedy.

9. WKRP in Cincinnati
I don't think it will ever be released. Too many legal issues with the music used in the show, I beleive.

12. See post #10.
SCTV had the same problem. The fans kept putting on the pressure and trading tapes underground. Eventually, someone figured there was a market for it after all.
Good luck.

16. This is what kept Freaks and Geeks from DVD for some time
They wanted to use the songs that were in the show and weren't going to give up until they got the copyright.

15. I saw re-runs where they used different music
It really spoiled the show. Whitney Houston wasn't a good substitute.

13. Grand Prix
Grand Prix is the best auto racing film ever made. O.K. that's not exactly saying a ton, but it was highly innovative and captures more of the sound and fury of F1 or any racing than any other film has come close too. It's a shame that it didn't come out as a DVD while Frankenheimer was alive because he gave good DVD commentary on his films.

I also want Point Blank by Boorman.

I want all of Frankenheimer and Boorman's stuff on DVD, actually. (Yes, I do have Zardoz on DVD, and I like it.)

And Louis Malle too!

19. Dr. Kildare
with Richard Chamberlain. That show has not been rerun on TV, is not on VHS and not on DVD. It has dropped off the face of the earth and it was very popular in the 60s.

21. All four and half seasons of La Femme Nikkita
Alias is such a sugar-coated, network version of that show. The second season is finally coming out in March on DVD, after a delay due to music rights.

I loved that show.
