3. When my husky was a puppy
she smelled like milk. We went to pick her up at 8 weeks old and she still had that milky sweet smell that I can't ever forget

:)

2. It's a genetic response
Edited on Fri Feb-11-05 09:14 PM by MrScorpio
We're hard wired to react to the exact placement of the eyes, nose and mouth and behave as if they are the equivalents or approximation of human babies.

Dogs have evolved to accomodate our reaction in order to perpetuate their species.

4. I Looooooooove Puppies!
All dogs, really. Today, I chased a guy down in the street so I could pet his cute dog..I am insane about them!

I have been having such dog/puppy hunger lately - I have photographs of my siblings' dogs all over my apartment (Labs, Rottweiler) and my heart aches everytime I look at them! :loveya:

I also live in NYC, and have been known to troll the dog runs in Washington Square and Union Square just to watch them play! Sometimes, I feel like one of those creepy child molester types at a playground, but watching them makes me so happy, my heart could burst!

Puppies are my favorite thing in the world!

At the Newport mall in Jersey City there's this pet store where they already know me and hubby by name... we go in there to oohh and ahhh every week!

14. I Know The Feeling
Before I got my dog, I lived in an apartment that didn't allow dogs, and it was all I could get at the time (apartment occupancy in my city was at 99% at the time and bursting at the seams!!) and I used to go to the dog park just to hang around with dogs, because I love them so much.

A couple years later, when the apartment crunch eased up, and I was able to actually CHOOSE where I wanted to live, instead of just taking what was available, I chose a place where I could have a dog...and I adoopted one, and have had her (correction - SHE has had ME) for nearly 3 years now.

Puppies and doggies are just absolutely the BEST!! Far superior to humans, in my not-so-humble opinion.

30. Only two of these photos are actually puppies
I would say all that but the first and fifth photos are adult dogs. They are just very small, and remain looking like puppies. This is the breed of dog that I have, a Brussels Griffon. You don't see very many of them. And I agree with you about adult doggies. See my post #17.:-)

12. I actually missed almost a third of the Super Bowl...
Because I kept on flipping over to "THE PUPPY BOWL" on Animal Planet.

Just a bunch of Puppies on a shrunk down football field playing and messing with each other.

Big puppies, little puppies, jumping puppies, happy puppies, tail wagging puppies...

My companion thought that was "cute" so I got some puppy lovin' that night.

13. Yeah... The Puppy Bowl rocked!
especially the water bowl cam and that golden retriever pup was just so adorable... I liked the refs cleaning up the mess.

I wonder what Animal Planet's ratings were for it.

18. I loved that, as well! It was positively riveting, LOL!
And the water cowl cam and the golden puppy were absolutely priceless! It had to have done well. My friend, who couldn't stop watching, wondered if they are going to turn it into a regular series. :D

17. I've only had one puppy. And I've had seven dogs in my life
There's a lot to be said for adopting the older ones, as well. Everyone loves puppies, but there is nothing like the loyalty and devotion that an older dog can give you. Everyone loves puppies, but it's the older ones who need us more, and can give us so much in return. I have two dogs, eleven and nine, and I adopted them at nine and eight. They are terrific companions and have brought so much to my life.
:loveya:

I adopted my most perfect dog of all, my beloved Barney, at age ten or eleven. I had him for eight wonderful years. He was the best dog I will ever know.

So, yes, I also love puppies. But my dogs are housebroken, aren't teething, let me sleep through the night, and don't leave me exhausted at the end of the day. All puppies grow up. And there's a lot to be said for the wonderful friend that an older dog can be.:-)

20. Big eyes. Big heads. Small bodies.
We're genetically programmed to identify such characteristics as "cute". Those of us who have the proper mental & emotional controls can rise above this instinctual reaction.

CAN YOU?
