1. Oh I LOVE that movie!!!

Too bad Robert Duvall is a right-winger (although more of a libertarian I think)

2. It's one of my favorites.

It's very subversive and very human. I didn't know Duvall was right wingish, but it wouldn't surprise me. Still, this movie is remarkable in how ably it honors the religious world it inhabits and yet shows the human story beneath it all. I didn't feel a message of approval of religion at all - it felt simply that this is the way it was, this is how and why this story happened.
