3. Iggy Pop! Because I've got a lust for life!
Here comes Johnny in again
With liquor and drugs
And a fast machine
He's gonna do another strip tease.

Hey man, where'd ya get that lotion?
I've been hurting since I'm up again
With something called love
Yeah, something called love.
Well, that's like hypnotizing chickens.

Well, I'm just a modern guy
Of course, I've had it in the ear before.
I have a lust for life
'Cause I've a lust for life.

I'm worth a million in prizes
With my torture film
Drive a GTO
Wear a uniform
On a government loan.

I'm worth a million in prizes
Yeah, I'm through with sleeping on the sidewalk
No more beating my brains
No more beating my brains
With liquor and drugs
With liquor and drugs.

Well, I'm just a modern guy
Of course, I've had it in my ear before
Well, I've a lust for life (lust for life)
'Cause I've a lust for life (lust for life, oooo)
I've got a lust for life (oooo)
Got a lust for life (oooo)
Oh, a lust for life (oooo)
Oh, a lust for life (oooo)
A lust for life (oooo)
I got a lust for life (oooo)
Got a lust for life

Well, I'm just a modern guy
Of course, I've had it in my ear before
Well, I've a lust for life
'Cause I've a lust for life.

Well, here comes Johnny in again
With liquor and drugs
And a fast machine
I know he's gonna do another strip tease.

Hey man, where'd ya get that lotion?
Your skin starts itching once you buy the game
With something called love
Love, love, love
Well, that's like hypnotizing chickens.

Well, I'm just a modern guy
Of course, I've had it in the ear before
And I've a lust for life (lust for life)
'Cause I've a lust for life (lust for life)
Got a lust for life
Yeah, a lust for life
I got a lust for life
A lust for life
Got a lust for life
Yeah a lust for life
I got a lust for life
Lust for life
Lust for life
Lust for life
Lust for life
Lust for life.

4. Who's gonna remember Iggy Pop...
when he's been dead 200 years?

Or play his music?

6. If Schubert's so great, how come he's dead, huh?!
Iggy Pop, on the other hand, may never actually die.

7. Iggy Pop is dead..
died in 1997.

What you see is his reanimated corpse brought back through the magic of Voodoo.

One of the major reasons we had to invade Haiti and throw Aristede out was to ensure the supply of John de Conquer root, which is no longer found in the Louisiana bayous thanks to our present environmental policies.

Be that as it may, there is a limit to just how long zombies can exist.

11. Iggy may never die, but his creativity died a long time ago
He has been a hack coasting on past glory and true achievements for a couple of decades now.
Okay, go ahead and burn me for heresy :)

14. You are a cruel cruel man...
:)
In my younger days, I would have never imagined that a project involving Iggy and Steve Jones would have been best summed up as "turgid" and "lugubrious" Heartbreaking. However, the cover art did crack me up. Sid Caesar in a Prince Valiant wig.
In Iggy's defense, "Avenue B" actually showed some flashes of the brilliance of "The Idiot", "Funhouse", "Kill City", and "Raw Power"
Unfortunately, its sales were dismal. So, of course, Iggy went right back to croaking inanities over recycled metal riffs. A pity.

10. As long as there are still commercials we'll still be hearing...
"Lust For Life" (and poor Hunt Sales doesn't receive a penny)

And to think; I really loved that song 27 YEARS AGO!

5. I'm German and I'm moderate
at least when it comes to a competition between Schubert and Iggy. Otherwise I'm too much of an extremist radical for DU to take: I'm the world's forgotten boy!

Who did produce the best produced Stooges-Album? - John Cale!
Who did record one of the most-Schubert influenced Albums ever? - John Cale! (Paris 1919)

Auf Winterreise anyway,
Dirk

16. In 50 years...
People will still remember and listen to Franz Schubert.

And no one will remember Iggy Pop - most will think it was the name of a soda that never marketed well, just like the Edsel.

17. Franz Liszt kicked more ass than either!
He used to play the piano so hard in concert, it would break the keys. He wore dramatic black outfits, and women would scream themselves hoarse and faint during his concerts.

Some things never change.
