16. The media and Sammy

I for one am tired of the media always focusing on Sammy Sosa.

Tonight they introduced Sammy and his Chicago Cubs. The pregame montage was just Sammy, Sammy, Sammy.

Excuse me! This entire team has brought them this far. Wood, Prior, Borowski, Lofton, Alou, Ramerez, Grudzielanek, Karros, Simon have all contributed as much, no make that MORE, than Sammy in the post season.

It is like everything else the media reports. Shallow hype and lazy analysis.

They have made it this far without him. .188 now in the post-season? I have to agree with your assessment.

It's the pitching more than anything.

Sammy will do better, everyone hits .188 in 5 games at a time in the regular season. But without pitching you won't advance far, the Cardinals didn't even go to the playoffs despite the fact McGwire hit 70 home runs.
