She's having a hysterectomy.
She'll be out for a month. Then she'll be back.

1. Did she quit? I know she was going to be absent for awhile due
to some type of surgery. I have heard her discussing her replacements.

7. if you listened to her
you'd know she was pretty damn distraught about getting sliced. How would you feel if you went to the doc and he said 'boy, those balls gotta go'? So she's taking some down time. Big deal.

10. ??? Wow, my aunt, an RN was down for 2 1/2 weeks
after her hysterectomy - she had an amazingly fast recovery.

How does one get 'rockin and rollin' in a week?

14. Rockin and rollin?
Edited on Sat Feb-12-05 12:27 PM by Bunny
I had my uterus removed vaginally, I was up and about in one week. Those who have their abdomen sliced open need 6-8 weeks to recover. That is major surgery, slicing through the muscles of the abdominal wall and everything.

On edit: what made you think she had quit?

16. Too many hysterectomies
My wife's doctor told her she needed one.
Thanks to the internet we saved her from getting one!

You have got to look out for yourselves!!
Again, here is the procedure. She had it about 4 years ago and is doing great! She is 45 now.

23. Had one in my 40's - best thing I've ever done!!!
After dealing with PCOS (PolyCystic Ovarian Syndrome) since I was 14,it was a welcome relief to be done with it. I told my Dr. to take out everything I didn't absolutely have to have while he was in there or install a zipper. After 4 abdominal surgeries for the ovarian cysts and endometriosis I was thrilled to be rid of it all.

20. First off, most insurance companies will not pay for
Edited on Sat Feb-12-05 12:38 PM by Bunny
unnecessary surgery. Believe me, it took me years to get my hysterectomy approved by the insurance company.

Second, I trust that Randi is smart enough to know what she needs, and to take the appropriate steps. Your comment that she was led to the surgery just to get her off the air seems pretty silly.

And I'm still curious as to why you thought she quit.
